Islamabad: The Kashmir issue should be settled according to UN resolutions and the aspirations of Kashmiris to ensure peace in the region, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said today.
He made the remarks while addressing the budget session of the Council of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in Muzaffarabad.
Sharif contended that peace cannot be established in the region without settling the Kashmir issue.
He expressed his determination to resolve the issue and said a solution would guarantee peace and prosperity in the region, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
He said he had raised the Kashmir issue at all forums and also during a recent meeting with US President Barack Obama.
