Kya aap 'Mard' hain? A survey to find the 'real' men from crowd

When we talk about men, there comes a picture of a strong human being ready to bare it all.And each time we hear somebody talk about 'Mardanagi', a famous dialogue of Bollywood 'Shehanshah' Amitabh Bachchan from an Indian movie comes across our minds, “Mard ko dard nahi hota”; something that has been taken much too seriously in real life situations..Well, we don't know whether 'mard ko dard hota hai ya nhi, but certainly jo dard deta hai wo mard nahi hota!'In order to find the real men amid the crowd, we carried out a survey titled “Kya Aap Mard Hain” among men.Asking them some questions based on real life situations, in order to know whether they have the qualities to be called a 'real' men!The outcome is pretty amazing, we found some men being diplomatic, while some others speaking their hearts out and giving a ray of hope. The names of respondents have been changed to maintain the confidentiality.Take a look..Q1. If you come across a woman/girl being eve teased at a public place, would you dare to come forward and help her out?Rahul: Two such events have happened with one of my friends when I was along with her. Once it happened when we were in a mall, where I made a big scene, but in the other case I was riding a bike when two other bikers followed us.There I couldn't do much except refraining them. And yes I would interfere if eve teasing takes place in front of me.Karan: Yes I will but not when I am totally outnumbered.Prem: Yes, Any man or rather a true human being with a bit of humanity will help and raise their voice against these sort of activity.Arjun: I would come forward to help her out because I wouldn't do such a thing to a girl neither I want any guy to misbehave with a girl.Rohit: Firstly, I feel I am lucky till now that I have not witnessed any such instances in my 23 years of life.But unfortunately if I came across any such incident I would definitely raise my voice and help her. What if sometime my sister suffers the same? Q2. You might have seen/heard many cases of domestic violence within your locality or your own house. But would you dare or have dared to question your own father/brother, if they misbehaved with your mother or sister? Rahul: I have witnessed in my home when I was in my teenage. My uncle used to shout a lot on my aunty. I regret why I didn't interfere then.Karan: Yes, I have seen domestic violence at one of my closest relative's home. Yes I will if any situation arises like this.Prem: No, Till now I have not seen any such incidents but obviously I will not encourage such incidentsArjun: I haven't seen any kind of serious violence, only friendly fights between siblings. I would definitely stop it if a man in my family is using violence against a girl in my family, but I wouldn't interrupt if it's outside my family!Rohit: Again I am lucky enough that I have not witnessed any kind of domestic violence in my family or in my neighborhood. Not a single male member in my family had misbehaved with any female or did any discrimination. But if this happens, I will not tolerate it. Q3. Do you judge a woman's character based on the dress she is wearing? If a girl is wearing mini dress or one piece dress would you stare at her and pass lewd comments? Rahul: I won't stare her in a stalking manner, but for sure I have my own way to look at her. Passing comment is one thing I would refrainKaran: No, staring is bad but since we are opposite sex a quick look is a complement, but ogling at somebody or passing lewd comments is totally out of question.Prem: No, I don't think dress defines a character of a woman and we don't have any right to pass comments on any outfit that a woman is wearing.Arjun: No I don't judge a girl's character by her dress up. Yes I would stare but won't pass any lewd comment.Rohit: If a girl or a woman's character is judged according to her clothes, then a man should also be judged same.Why we call it fashion when a stud goes shirtless, why we want to see Salman shirtless? This is absolutely illogical that someone's character is judges according to the clothes.If a girl wears a short dress it is her choice. I have no right to stare or pass comments on her. If my sister wears the same, will I do such things with her also??? Absolutely not! I will not ever do this nor will tolerate.Q4. If you see a woman waving her hand for help as her car is broken at stroke of midnight, would you stop your car to help her? Or you would take advantage of the situation?Rahul: Women asking for a help during midnight is in itself a situation of doubt (not otherwise, but only for safety reasons for me as well). But I would help after being satisfied that there's no trap in that.Karan: If she is genuinely in need I will help her. No, I will not take advantage of her.Prem: Never, I will try to help her.Arjun: Yes I would help her. But I would be afraid that it might be a scam or something.Rohit: If that girl or lady is really suffering from the problem I would certainly help her. That's my advantage, and that's the situation. There's no other situation or advantage for me in such case. Q5. If you are a man with past, would you accept your wife having a past of her own maybe similar to yours?Rahul: Its better she tells me about this prior our marriage, because post our wedding it would be nothing but a betrayal, and it would be hard to handle the relationship.Karan: Most people have a past we should better dwell in present and let past take a backseat.Prem: I will be glad that she has in fact told the truth and will try to make her feel that it was a thing of past and it should not hamper our relationship in future.Arjun: It doesn't matter what she was before the marriage as long as she stays faithful after the marriage.Rohit: See everybody has his/her personal life. Everybody must have loved someone before. I would never mind if my partner is a virgin or not.For me, feelings matters the most but it should be true from both the sides. Everybody has past and you can't ignore this. I would be happier if I get true loving partner rather than knowing she is not a virgin or she is not pure.
