Lahore, Mar 24: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday pledged to build a 'Naya Pakistan' (new Pakistan), based on rule of law and a corruption-free society.
Addressing tens of thousands of supporters at the Minar-e-Pakistan here, the cricketer-turned-politician made six promises, which he said, his party would try to fulfil.
His six promises are: (1) I will never lie to the nation (2) I will wage a 'Jihad' against injustice (3) I will keep all my wealth in Pakistan, unlike other leaders who keep their wealth abroad (4) I will not take undue benefits or allow others to do the same in my government (5) I will guard the nation's exchequer, and it will not be spent on Governors, PM and CMs' houses (6) I will stand by overseas Pakistanis.
Imran Khan said he would put a stop to US drone attacks, once his party comes to power. Also, attacks on tribals in the frontier region will be stopped.
He said that he would not try to play up the issue of new provinces in order to get votes.
"Pakistan's future is in the hands of youth. I am concerned with the well being of that people that is why I joined politics", said the PTI chief.
