Ginger Jihadist: Abdullah Elmir, the new face of ISIS

New Delhi: The Islamic State (IS) has become the latest nemesis for many countries because of its ruthless activities in Iraq and Syria and it is gaining control over large parts of both these countries.The rise of ISIS and its malicious propaganda has led many youth from various countries in the world to join these dreaded militant organization..The latest to fall in the trap is an Australian teenager Abdullah Elmir. He is son of an Australian- born mother and Lebanese father.He first came into limelight when he appeared in his first Islamic State video last week warning that the movement won't stop fighting until the extremists black flag is flying above every nation.Abdullah vanished from his Sydney home in June, telling his family he was going for fishing but later he disclosed that he was somewhere in Turkey.In the latest video, Abdullah Elmir is seen surrounded by dozens of black-clad jihadists on the bank of the Tigris River in Mosul in Iraq, according to media reports.The six-minute clip, entitled "An evening on the banks of the Tigris River in the Province of Nineveh in the Islamic State," shows the movement's followers gathering to eat, pray and then recite religious texts.Using the name Abu Khaled, holding a rifle and dressed in military garb, he is surrounded by dozens of other young jihadists as he addresses the camera.He appeared in a YouTube clip last week alongside IS fighters, threatening Aussie Prime Minister Tony Abbott and any nation that stands in the way of IS.Australian fighter jets are launching airstrikes against Islamic State targets in northern Iraq as part of a U.S.-led coalition and 200 Australian special forces troops will soon enter Iraq to advise and assist local security forces.“Bring every nation that you want to come and fight us,” he says in the video.“Whether it's 50 nations or 50,000 nations, it means nothing to us. Bring your planes. Bring everything you want to us. Because it will not harm us. Why? Because we have Allah. This is something you do not have.”The militant has became the most richest militant organization of the world and it has gained access to many oil fields in Iraq and Syria.ISIS doesn't depend on foreign aid to survive. In Syria, they've built up something like a mini-state: collecting the equivalent of taxes, selling electricity, and exporting oil to fund its militant activities. The United Nations has warned that foreign jihadists are swarming into the twin conflicts in Iraq and Syria on “an unprecedented scale” and from countries that had not previously contributed combatants to global terrorism.A report by the UN says that 15,000 people have travelled to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside the Islamic State (Isis) and similar extremist groups. They come from more than 80 countries, the report states, “including a tail of countries that have not previously faced challenges relating to al-Qaida”. Muassissat al-Furqan, one of the media wings of the group, has released some propaganda material that shows the recruitment and military use of children under the age of 15 which the UN human rights council has termed as “a war crime".According to the report, one video has been titled on YouTube "Cubs of the Islamic State" — the name by which ISIS now refers to itself and a voice-over in Arabic boasts that these "cubs" are sure in their faith and in the auspices of ISIS.Another clip posted as part of the "Messages from the Land of the Final Battles" series appears to be a graduation video.
