An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 70 km east-southeast of Fayzabad, Afghanistan, at around 10.19 am, said the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
On Sunday, tremors of an earthquake were felt in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Tremors were also felt in Srinagar and Poonch in J&K.
Quakes were likewise felt in Srinagar and Poonch in J&K. Some social media users said a 6.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Pakistan's Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and different urban communities.
Powerful quake hits parts of Pakistan
Meanwhile, a strong 6 magnitude earthquake rocked parts of Pakistan, igniting panic and forcing residents to flee their homes on Sunday morning.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring in Islamabad, the quake's epicentre was the border region between Afghanistan and Tajikistan and originated at a depth of 223 kilometers, significantly reducing its devastating impact.
The shocks were accounted for in Islamabad, Peshawar, Smack, Haripur, Malakand, Abbottabad, Batgram, Pakistan-involved Kashmir, Texlia, Pind Dadan Khan and a few different pieces of the country.
So far, neither lives nor property have been reported as lost.
Earthquakes of varying magnitudes frequently occur in Pakistan.
In 2005, Pakistan's deadliest earthquake claimed the lives of more than 74,000 people.
