The number of COVID-19 tests per million in the national capital crossed the one-lakh mark on Wednesday, as the authorities conducted a record 54,517 tests in the last 24 hours, government data showed. 

According to the latest health bulletin issued by the Delhi government, the test-per-million count stood at 1,00,198. 

Amid rising coronavirus cases in Chhattisgarh, a sero survey will be conducted in ten districts including Raipur to find out the status of "herd immunity", an official statement said on Wednesday.

The survey will be jointly conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Odisha and the state Health Department, it said.

Sero survey involves testing of blood serum of people to check for the prevalence of antibodies against coronavirus infection.

The survey will be conducted in two development blocks of Raipur district from September 16 to 18, while in the other nine districts -- Bilaspur, Korba, Mungeli, Jashpur, Janjgir-Champa, Balrampur, Balodabazar, Rajnandgaon and Durg -- it will start from September 20.

The Uttar Pradesh government has given its nod for resumption of inter-state bus services from the state, an official statement said here. In a statement, UPSRTC Managing Director Raj Shekhar said, "We are working on the schedule to start the bus services and will update you all soon.”

The Chief Minister’s Office said in a tweet in Hindi, "In a bid to provide easy and accessible transportation to the public, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given permission for resumption of inter-state bus services to Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi."

In a bid to ease travel woes of several thousand National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) aspirants, the Metro Railway in Kolkata has decided to operate special services on September 13, an official said on Wednesday.

This service will be exclusively for medical entrance examinees and their guardians, Metro Railway spokesperson Indrani Banerjee said.

The Bombay High Court has stayed any further demolition at actor Kangana Ranaut's office in Bandra. The order comes after Ranaut approached the court challenging the notice issued by the Mumbai civic body for 'illegal construction' at her bungalow, and sought a stay on the demolition process.
