    Tamil Nadu allows air-conditioning in restaurants

    The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday issued a Government Order permitting functioning of restaurants with air conditioning facility. "Following the Standard Operating Procedures already issued by the government, restaurants are permitted to function from 6 am to 8 pm with air conditioning facility by
    following the guidelines issued by the Government of India for air conditioning and ventilation," the Government Order said.

    The move is in continuation of relaxations announced under the current 'Unlock' 4 phase.

    Also, restaurants could offer take away services till 9 pm and tea shops are allowed to function from 6 am to 8 pm as per the order.

    UP achieves 2nd place in state ranking of ease of doing business

    Uttar Pradesh has achieved the second position in the ease of doing business annual ranking released by Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the back of reforms implemented by the state, a release said on Saturday. The state jumped from 12th position in the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) 2017-18 to the second position in BRAP-19, taking a remarkable leap of 10 positions, a senior state official said in the release.

    "UP has left several leading states like Gujarat, Telangana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra etc. behind in this ease of doing business ranking," the official said.

    In BRAP-19, Uttar Pradesh has implemented 186 reforms out of 187 reforms suggested by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

    Rains lash Delhi

    Rains lashed several parts of the national capital on Saturday evening, officials said. The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides official figures for the city, recorded 1.8 mm rainfall. Lodhi Road observed 2.4 mm rainfall, Ridge 1.2 mm, Palam and Aaya Nagar recorded no rainfall, a senior MeT official said.

    The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 35 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

    Air India to resume Mumbai-Aurangabad flights from Sep 15

    Flag carrier Air India is set to resume its services to Mumbai from here with three flights per week, starting September 15, an official has said. The flights between the two cities were suspended in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The airline's operations from Aurangabad airport to New Delhi and Hyderabad have already been restored earlier.

    Air India is starting Mumbai-Aurangabad-Mumbai flights from September 15, an Aurangabad Airport official said.

    The services on the route will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and will remain operational up to October 24, according to the official.

    80 new special trains to run from Sept 12: Rail Board Chairman

    Eighty new special trains will be operational from September 12, reservations for which will begin from September 10, Railway Board Chairman V K Yadav said on Saturday. He said the trains will be notified later in the day.

    "Eighty new special trains or 40 pair of trains will start operations from September 12. Reservations will begin from September 10. This will run in addition to the 230 trains already in operation," he said.
