The number of COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh increased to 3,305 on Monday after 92 more people tested positive for the infection, a health official said. Also, 66 patients were discharged from different hospitals, taking the number of recoveries to 2,644, he said.

A plasma bank for treating COVID-19 patients has been set up at Kolkata Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), the first of its kind in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Monday. So far, around 12 people who have recovered from COVID-19 have donated their plasma in the state to help in the treatment of coronavirus infected people.

"The state health department has built a plasma bank at the Kolkata Medical College and Hospital's Immunohematology department for COVID-19 treatment," Banerjee said at the state secretariat on Monday.

Chandigarh on Monday reported a spike in new coronavirus cases as 21 more people tested positive for the infection, taking the tally to 487, as per the daily bulletin.

Three pilots and four crew members of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) have tested positive for COVID-19, an official said on Monday. The NAC has been operating multiple numbers of international flights to bring back home Nepalis stranded in foreign countries. The infected pilots and crew members were part of the evacuation flights, MyRepublica newspaper reported.

NAC spokesperson Archana Khadka confirmed the viral infection in three pilots and four crew members, the report said.

Nepal has recorded a total of 15,964 coronavirus cases so far.

At present, there are 9,118 active coronavirus patients undergoing treatment at different health facilities across the country, the health ministry said.

Gujarat reported yet another highest-ever single-day spike of 735 coronavirus cases on Monday, raising the tally to 36,858, while 17 more patients
succumbed to the infection, seven of them in Ahmedabad, the state health department said. With the death of 17 more COVID-19 patients, total fatalities rose to 1,962, it said.

The number of recovered cases increased to 26,323 with 423 more patients getting discharged on Monday, the health department said in a release.

The COVID-19 tally in Tamil Nadu touched nearly 1. 15 lakh on Monday as the daily count witnessed a slide with 3,827 fresh cases after posting over 4,000 new infections in the past four days. As many as 61 people died of the virus and the toll stood at 1,571, a health department bulletin said.

Mizoram reported 5 new COVID-19 positive cases. The total number of cases in the state stands at 191 including 58 active cases and 133 cured/discharged. 

The number of COVID-19 cases reaches 1,071 in Himachal Pradesh out of which 301 cases are active.

States report a lower COVID-19 positivity rate than the national average of 6.73%. Their tests per million also higher than the national average. 

In the last 24 hours, 933 new COVID-19 positive cases and 24 deaths have been reported in the state. There are 8,718 active cases, 19,109 discharges so far and 809 patients have succumbed to the infection. 

Indonesia's resort island of Bali will allow international tourists to visit from September 11 after being closed to visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was reported on Monday. The island held a mass prayer on Sunday to ask for permission and protection from the Hindu God at the sacred Besakih Temple, reports the BBC.

Indonesian tourists will be allowed to return from July 31.
