55 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Rajasthan
Fifty-five fresh cases of the novel coronavirus, including three from Jaipur, were reported on Thursday, taking the number of cases to 1,131 in the state, according to an official.
Bharatpur district saw a sudden spurt in COVID-19 cases, with 23 persons testing positive there, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Rohit Kumar Singh.

Health Ministry briefs media on coronavirus situation in the country
Health Ministry is briefing the media on the coronavirus situation in the country. Here are the highlights:
- No shortage of essential commodities like milk, fruits, groceries, and vegetables.
- We urge people to follow social distancing and wear masks.
- No new COVID-19 cases in Mahe and Puducherry in the last 48 hours.
- 1489 recovered so far, 183 recovered in the past 24 hours, 941 positive in past 24 hours, 12,380 positive cases in total, 414 deaths so far.
- 325 districts in India have no cases of COVID-19.
- Industries asked to focus on 'Make in India' for medical supplies.
- Health Minister & MoS, Health held a video conference yesterday, with health functionaries and field officers of the World Health Organisation, in which micro-plan for clusters and outbreak containment of COVID-19 at district-level was discussed.
- Some rules should be enforced strictly at public places and workplaces like mandatory wearing of masks and social distancing.
- An action plan has been prepared on strengthening our ongoing surveillance utilizing the services of the World Health Organisation’s national polio surveillance network team.
- Rapid COVID-19 test kits procured from China not for early diagnosis, only for epidemiology purpose: ICMR
- No case has been reported since the last 28 days in Mahe district, Puducherry.
- 2,90,401 people have been tested till date, of which 30,043 (26,331 tests done at ICMR's 176 labs & 3,712 tests at 78 private labs) were tested yesterday.
- India has received 5 lakh testing kits, including rapid antibody test kits, from two Chinese firms.
- Temperature screening and use of sanitisers should be mandatory at workplaces.
- 2,90,401 COVID-19 tests conducted so far; 30,043 tests done on April 15.
- Old, unwell and those with young children should be encouraged to work from home.
- Five or more people should not assemble at one place; no spitting should be practised at public places and workplaces.

Ministry of External Affairs said: "MEA has been at the forefront of the GOI COVID response to ensure vital medical supplies from other countries. As part of these efforts, Rapid Antibody Testing Kits (first lot of 3 lakh from Guangzhou Wondfo and 2.5 lakh from Zhuhai Livzon) and RNA Extraction Kits (1 lakh from MGI Shenzhen), all custom cleared yesterday late night have left this morning for India. In total 6.5 lakh kits on way; should reach today. Our Embassy in Beijing and Consulate in Guangzhou played a key role."
