London, Sep 15: A "disturbing" study has found that British males have lost their "impeccable" manners.
According to the Daily Express, a survey found that a mere four percent of men would be willing to give up their seat to a pregnant woman.
Around 46 per cent of British males admitted spitting in the street.
The study by internet sock retailer Socked.co.uk found only 40 per cent males will hold a door open for a female.
Mark Hall, managing director of the company, said Britain needs to restore its reputation.
"It's shameful that we have let our standards slip. Visitors from overseas associate Britain as a place filled with discerning gents with impeccable manners, but nothing could be further from the truth," Hall was quoted as saying.
