Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said strict action will be taken against cracker-ban defaulters. He said, "FIR will be registered under the Air Act, it provides for penalty and sentencing of 1.5-6 years. Police will register FIR directly. SDM and DM have been directed to inform Police if they see any such incident."

Gold futures gain on spot demand
Gold prices on Monday rose by Rs 308 to Rs 52,475 per 10 gram in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for December delivery traded higher by Rs 308, or 0.59 per cent, at Rs 52,475 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 12,577 lots. -

Nritya Gopal Das complains of chest pain, referred to Lucknow hospital
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das on Monday complained of chest pain and breathlessness, following which he was referred to a Lucknow hospital by doctors who attended to him in Ayodhya, sources said.
The 82-year-old saint, who heads the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, will undergo cardiology check-up as soon as he is brought to the state capital. He had tested coronavirus positive in August and was hospitalised in Gurugram.

An Army Major was found dead on Monday under mysterious circumstances inside his camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.
Police sources said Major Vineet Gullia, Company Commander of 38 Rashtriya Rifles was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside the camp in Dhera Ki Gali in Rajouri district.
"Inquest proceedings under 174 CrPc have been started. A police team rushed to the spot to start investigations into the death", sources said.

7 killed, 5 injured as jeep collides with truck in MP
Seven members of a family, including a child, were killed and five others injured when their jeep collided with a dumper-truck in Madhya Pradesh''s Satna district on Monday morning, police said.
The victims were returning to Rewa after taking part in a family programme in Panna, Additional Superintendent of Police Shailendra Kumar Jain said. The accident took place at around 8 am on Satna-Nagod road, about 20 km away from the district headquarters.

Telangana adds 857 fresh COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths take toll to
Telangana reported 857 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally to2,51,188 while four more deaths pushed the toll to 1,381, the state government said on Monday. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 250, followed by Rangareddy (88) and Medchal Malkajgiri (61) districts, it said in a bulletin, providing details as of 8 PM on Sunday.
As many as19,239 are under treatment and23,806 samples were tested on November 8. Cumulatively,46,42,276 samples have been tested.

COVID-19: 2,740 new cases in Karnataka, 22 deaths
Karnataka has reported 2,740 new cases of COVID-19 and 22 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 8,46,887 and the death toll to 11,391, the Health Department said late on Sunday night.
The day also saw 2,360 patients getting discharged after recovery. Out of 2,740 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 1,579 cases were from Bengaluru urban alone.

Three held for duping job seekers in Noida
The Noida Police on Sunday said they have arrested three men allegedly involved in duping money from a large number of job seekers. The trio, which was operating from an office in Noida's Sector 10, had trapped several gullible job seekers by contacting them over the phone, police said.
“The gang would gather data of job seekers from a famous online job consultancy website and then reach out to them. They would trap gullible people and then take money from them in the name of various charges,” a police spokesperson said.

Delhi Police seize 600 kgs of firecrackers being sold illegally
The Delhi Police has arrested seven people and seized around 600 kilograms of firecrackers being sold illegally in the national capital from their possession, officials said on Sunday.
Ahead of Diwali, the Delhi government had on Thursday decided to ban firecrackers, including green crackers, in the city till November 30 to combat pollution amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city.
