Boston blasts: Story of bravery as man, who lost son in Iraq war, helped victims seconds after terror attack

Boston, Apr 17: It was an act that legends are made of. Costa Rican immigrant Carlos Arredondo lost his son Alexander in the Iraq war. An anti-war protester, Carlos was present at the Boston Marathon

The Costa Rican immigrant used his clothes and towels to stop the victims from bleeding.

Hailed by the local media as a hero, Arredondo helped one victim, who lost both his legs and was drenched in blood, into a wheelchair that the marathon medical staff had brought, and he says, he kept talking to the man so he wouldn't lose consciousness.

‘I kept talking to him. I kept saying, “Stay with me, stay with me,”' Arredondo, who is a member of the Red Cross disaster team, told Maine Today.
