Peshawar: A roadside remote-controlled blast today killed at least nine Pakistani paramilitary soldiers and critically wounded several others in the restive North Waziristan Agency, bordering Afghanistan.
The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was planted on the roadside and was detonated as the security forces convoy came near the Miramshah road.
At least nine Frontier Corps personnel were killed and several others were critically wounded, the Pakistani military's media wing, ISPR, said.
Following the incident, additional security personnel immediately reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the area.
