Kabul: At least 36 Taliban militants were killed and 10 wounded during operations in different Afghan provinces within a day, said the country's interior ministry on Wednesday.
"Afghan National Police (ANP) conducted several joint clearance operations with the cooperation of the army, National Directorate of Security and coalition forces in Baghlan, Laghman, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Helmand, Logar and Wardak provinces, killing 36 armed militants and injuring 10," Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying.
"11 others were arrested within the last 24 hours," it added.
The ANP also found and seized weapons besides defusing six landmines, it said.
