Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, today said that it would be wrong to say that Pakistan is being isolated at the international level and that its foreign policy lacks direction.
Aziz said that an objective assessment of the policies followed by PML-N government would suggest that such notions are entirely wrong.
Aziz made these remarks while addressing the concluding session of the envoys' conference held at the Pakistani Foreign Office today.
Highlighting his country’s friendly relations with China, Aziz said that Pakistan's "monumental achievements" over the past three years are illustrated by the undertaking of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and a strategic partnership with China.
He further said that Pakistan's second greatest foreign policy achievement was enhanced cooperation with Central Asian republics in the form of the Casa-1000 power project and the Tapi gas pipeline.
Membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), which reflects "new geo-political alignments" will show Pakistan is "on the right side of history,” Aziz added.
