The nude photographs of Melania Trump published by American daily tabloid the New York Post, which have landed the potential First Lady in thick soup, have been dubbed as a celebration of the female body by the photographer who did the shoot.
The photographer, Alé de Basseville, explains that the artist, formerly known as Melania Knauss, was always very comfortable being naked.
"I am completely against this world, and I don't understand why the girls f- -k with old guys to afford a Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Hermès bags," he told the Post. "The fashion industry has become the biggest pimp ever."
However, De Basseville defended the nude photographs of Melania Trump, calling them "a celebration of the female body."
A visibly young prospective first lady is seen on the cover, naked, with a line that says ‘You’ve never seen a potential first lady like this’. In the inside pages, the daily has published full photos of her posing for the camera.
A professional model, she was known as Melania K. back then. The photos were taken from an old shoot for a now out of print French magazine (Max) when she was 25 years old.
The tabloid is infamous for its sensational journalism. 'You have never seen a potential first lady like this', says the paper
It had also endorsed Donald Trump earlier in an editorial post. “He has the potential — the skills, the know-how, the values — to live up to his campaign slogan: to make America great again.
According to an article about the photographs, Trump told the Post, "Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common."
A key adviser to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump says there's no problem with the New York Post's publication of a nude photograph of Melania Trump on its Sunday cover.
"They're a celebration of the human body as art," Jason Miller, the Trump campaign's senior communications adviser, said on CNN's "Reliable Sources."
Trump married Melania in 2005. His two prior marriages were also to models: Ivana Zelníčková and Marla Maples. Trump's numerous business ventures also include a modeling agency called Trump Model Management.
