You will be surprised to know that the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, was almost shot down by one of their guards.
The incident is like this – The Queen was taking a stroll in her garden at 3 in the morning, and this guard shouted in the darkness as he saw someone walking at such a late time.
The figure, which turned out to be the majesty herself, was taking a walk in the garden of Buckingham Palace. On seeing this, the security guard thought that it might be an intruder.
Later, it was found out that Queen Elizabeth II was taking a late night stroll because she could not get to sleep, and therefore, had come out in the garden to get some fresh air.
The shocked guard even went up to her majesty and confessed that he was almost about to shoot her. To this, she replied in her usual, quirky manner that next time, she will make sure to call him up before taking a walk so nobody confuses her with an outsider.
