Pakistan on Thursday cancelled Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria’s lecture that he was supposed to deliver at an event in Lahore, according to media reports.
The event was cancelled 24 hours before it was scheduled to start.
The event was organised by Civil Services Academy in Pakistan.
Bisaria was sent a letter informing him about the cancellation of the event by the National School of Public Policy which said that due to 'scheduling constraints' they would not be able to accommodate it.
The cancellation may further escalate tensions between India and Pakistan. The relationship between the two countries is already under strain after New Delhi cancelled the proposed meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries on the UNGA sidelines in New York.
