US: Suspicious vehicle causes bomb scare at White House

Secret Service on Wednesday responded to a suspicious vehicle near US President Donald Trump's office and residence White House in Washington, DC.

Secret Service on Wednesday responded to a suspicious vehicle near US President Donald Trump's office and residence White House in Washington, DC. The New Executive Office Building was evacuated in the process. Part of 17th Street, where the vehicle was parked, was closed to traffic, the Secret Service tweeted.

The vehicle was shortly cleared by the Explosive Ordnance Detection personnel. Following the clearance, the agency lifted the road closures. Pennsylvania Avenue and Lafayette Park remain closed to pedestrians.
