Tower Hill Station was briefl closed after a small scale explosion in a bag in London on Tuesday. The blast, caused by a mobile phone charger, sparked panic among the passengers who fled in panic, resulting in injuries and stampede outside the station.
About five people were reported injured in the incident.
According to reports, the blast was followed by an acid-like smell in the train which was inbound from east London to Ealing Broadway.
Later, a post on London's Fire Brigade said: "We've dealt with a small explosion on a train at Tower Hill station. It is believed to have been caused by a mobile phone charger."
British Transport Police tweeted: "Officers have been called to Tower Hill station following a fire alert. The station is closed whilst officers and @LondonFire respond."
This is the second incident of blast in September this year.
On September 16, a bomb blast on an London Underground train had injured 29 people. It was fifth major terrorism incident this year in Britain.
