Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has threatened Pakistan’s all-rounder Shahid Afridi of dire consequences if he doesn’t stop talking about his relative and former captain Javed Miandad.

According to reports, Dawood had on October 12 made a phone call to Afridi and told him not to speak about his Miandad.

This comes after Afridi slammed Miandad for accusing him of fixing matches for money.

Miandad had serious issues with Afridi. He had claimed that Afridi wants to play the farewell game ‘just for money’.

Speaking to a Pakistani news channel, Miandad had said that Afridi should swear by his children and say that he had not fixed matches for Pakistan and has not sold Pakistan.

“I am a witness, I have caught him. I had caught the entire team. These people are fixers and they are talking about money,” he had said.

Rebutting this, Afridi said that ‘Miandad had always had issues with money'.

“Javed Miandad has been thinking about money all his life and he still is. A cricketer of his stature should not do such cheap talks. This was the difference between Imran Khan and Miandad,” Afridi said.

Afridi also said that he will be forced to take a legal action against the 1992 World Cup winner for his comments.

Miandad then said that 'he forgave Afridi for his comments'.

This was followed by a series of tweets by Afridi.

“Javed Bhai has pardoned me? Thanks, But has he withdrawn his allegations, what has he got to say to that? His allegations caused pain & grief to me my family and my fans, is he retracting from his actual allegation? I consider him an elder and hope he'll take back his actual words. Else I'll have to seek answer and justice to clear my reputation in court. Nothing matters more to me than playing for my country with pride, no one can accuse me of selling my country. I want to stress that I have great respect for Javed Bhai he is our hero, our legend, he's my mentor too. I'll never lose regard for him,” Afridi tweeted.

Former pacer Wasim Akram, on the other hand, requested the two to end their ugly war of words.

“Javed Bhai & Shahid mean a lot to me & to Pakistan. It's really sad to see what's happening between them. InshAllah it will be over soon," Akram tweeted.
