A senior Chinese official, in charge of Tibet affairs,  has said that the United States should stop using Dalai Lama to create trouble for China and warned that instead of  bringing any  benefit to the US , it will only damage Sino-US relations.

According to a report in Global Times, Zhu Weiqun, head of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, further said that it's impossible for the Chinese government to have a dialogue with India-based  "Tibetan government-in-exile" or the Dalai Lama as they are aiming  to split China.

"The one and the only sensible thing the 'government-in-exile' can do is to dissolve itself," Zhu said.

“China will not change its policy to support the development of the Tibetan society, nor will the country stop protecting its sovereignty over the region,” he added.

Zhu’s comments came after Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations that he will continue to encourage dialogue between Beijing and representatives of India-based "Tibetan government-in-exile" or the Dalai Lama.

Tillerson also gave an affirmative answer on whether he would commit to receiving and meeting with the Dalai Lama.
