The Al-Qaeda has taunted President Donald Trump for the US raid on Yemen that resulted in the first combat death of an American soldier after Trump’s inauguration.

In an audio message, the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula Qassim al-Rimi said that the death of the US soldier was a "slap" on the face of the White House.

According to CNN, the message was released online Saturday and translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

Qassim al-Rimi further claimed that  dozens of Americans were killed and wounded.

Rimi’s  claim was  starkly at odds with the US account, which reported the death of one Navy SEAL, Chief Petty Officer William "Ryan" Owens during the January 29 raid.

According to the US account, three additional SEALs also were wounded.

Rimi acknowledged the deaths of 14 men, 11 women and children in the raid which was a joint counter-terrorism effort between the United States and United Arab Emirates.
