Washington: US President Barack Obama is all set to lease a nine-bedroom mansion in Washington after he concludes his term and leaves the White House next year, US media reported today.

Obama's post-presidential pad is located in DC's wealthy Kalorama neighbourhood.

As per reports, the owner of Obama's to-be real estate is Joe Lockhart, who served as White House press secretary under former President Bill Clinton.

Built in 1928, the house has nine bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms.

It was priced at Rs 33 crore in 2014.

Obama, 54, has said he and his family will remain in Washington home after he departs from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in January 2017.

"We're going to stay a couple of years in DC probably, so Sasha can finish school," he said in March. "Transferring someone in the middle of high school? Tough."

Obama, the 44th US President, will demit office on January 20, 2017, after serving two terms.
