Hyderabad: The YSR Congress continued to disrupt proceedings in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly today, demanding that voting be conducted on the draft AP Reorganisation Bill-2013 ahead of the debate on it.
The House had to be adjourned for half-an-hour as soon as it resumed today after a week-long break, as YSRC members stormed the Speaker's podium.
Speaker Nadendla Manohar disallowed the two adjournment motions moved by TDP and YSRC on the state bifurcation issue and appealed to members to take part in the debate on the draft Bill.
The YSRC legislators, however, pressed for voting ahead of the debate.
“I have repeatedly been telling that I will take views of all members into consideration. Anything is possible only after the discussion (on the draft Bill). This is what we decided in the Business Advisory Committee meeting,” the Speaker told the agitating members.
But, they continued to raise slogans in support of a united state, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings for half-an-hour.
