Muzaffarnagar, UP, Nov 7: In a case of crass medical negligence, a youth in his twenties, Radhey, hailing from Agra, was declared dead by doctors at the district hospital here on Sunday and was sent to the hospital morgue, where he lay among the dead for nearly  eight hours.

SP City K B Singh and City Magistrate Chandra Bhushan rushed to the hospital morgue, on hearing that a dead youth has woken up alive.

According to Radhey's neighbour Adarsh Kumar, the youth was admitted to hospital for epliepsy on Saturday, and the doctors had given him some injections. 

On Sunday morning, a doctor found him unconscious and as he saw no sign of heartbeat, he declared him dead and sent him to the morgue.

The district hospital sent a memo to the district kotwali (SP office), where it was entered in the general diary, and a police team  came to the morgue  and completed the panchnama.

As the body was being wheeled out for post-mortem, Radhey suddenly woken up and sat down, and the policemen and staff almost fled fearing him to be a ghost.

The youth was later rushed to emergency and put on ventilator where he is recovering.

District medical officials are tightlipped over the incident.
