Yoga guru Swami Ramdev, speaking exclusively to India TV on the popular Sawal to Banta Hai show, claimed there is no alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted the Opposition could win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections if they come up with new agendas.
He said that it was impossible for Opposition leaders to get united against the Prime Minister and his government. However, he noted that the Opposition could win the polls if they bring an agenda which has qualities that can supersede the Modi government.
"Opposition must bring Akhand Bharat agenda"
Also, he asserted if the Opposition brings an "Akhand Bharat" agenda, which has the capability to merge Afghanistan, Aksai Chin and Burma (Myanmar) with India, then they can win the polls.
While giving suggestions to the Congress and the other regional parties, Swami Ramdev said, " As of now, I don't think anyone from the Opposition parties has the capability to compete with the incumbent government.'
"They can only win if they come up with the agenda of merging Aksai Chin, Myanmar, and Afghanistan, then only, they can win the upcoming polls," added Ramdev.
"At least Opposition should bring PoK agenda"
Later, he gave relief to the Opposition parties by saying they could win the polls, even if they bring an agenda of merging PoK in India. However, he noted, this is again impossible, noting the difference between the Congress and other regional parties.
It is worth mentioning the country will hold the next Lok Sabha elections in 2024, where major national parties Congress and BJP will be in the fray.
