Noida: The proposed Yamuna bridge, to be built parallel to the existing bridge at Kalindi Kunj, has got NOC from irrigation department and is now awaiting approval of Yamuna Action Plan after which tendering process will start.

“We have received the pillor study hydraulic report and NOC from irrigation department.

Now, report has been sent to Yamuna Action Plan Meerut,” Noida Authority Chief Project Engineer A K Goel said.

“Once we get approval, tendering process will start. It will relieve traffic congestion on Kalindi Kunj bridge.

Presently, commuters get struck during peak hours,” he said.

Noida Authority had conceptualised the parallel bridge along Kalindi bridge more than three years ago.

As per a clause in agreement for DND Flyway, no alternate bridge could be built near DND Flyway for 10 years.

The period elapsed in 2011 and the authority can now build new bridge. Over Rs 500 crore is estimated to be the cost of the project.
