Nagpur, Aug 4: Alleging irregularities by the office-bearers of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust here, a writ petition before the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has sought that Charity Commissioner should intervene and expel them.
Division bench of Justices Bhushan Dharmadhikari and Atul Chandurkar last week issued notices to Social Welfare Department's secretary, the trustees, Police Commissioner and the municipal corporation, seeking reply by next month.
Taj Ahmad Raza, the petitioner, has alleged irregularities by Trust chairman Sheikh Hussain, secretary Iqbal Esmail Velji and treasurer Vijay Kumar Alban Francis.
He says the trust currently has only three members, fewer than mandated by the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.
Audit reports have not been submitted to Charity Commissioner since 2002, the petition alleges.
It also alleges that the trustees illegally demolished a dargah and some shops without permission from the authorities, but police took no action despite complaints.
