Gurgaon: A 22-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by seven persons at a guesthouse in the Sushant Lok area here, police said.
The victim, who hails from West Bengal, has alleged that she was raped by one Kapil Yadav and his associates, said ACP Rajesh Kumar, adding that the complaint came on Friday morning.
A medical examination of the complainant has confirmed rape, he said.
According to police, the victim said that she knew Kapil and, on the day of the crime, had met him at a market from where they went to the guesthouse.
The woman, belonging to Burdwan district, is separated from her husband and had emigrated to Gurgaon two years ago in search of a livelihood. She was looking for a job when she met Kapil who promised to get her employed at his office.
Kapil offered to make a formal offer if she visited the office with him. She agreed and both left in a white Maruti WagonR. But Kapil drove to the guesthouse in DLF-IV, near Hamilton Court.
At the guesthouse, she alleged, six of Kapil's acquaintances entered their room and the accused then took turns to repeatedly rape her. She has also said in her complaint that the accused were carrying a firearm.
"She came to the police station around Thursday midnight and narrated the incident. We filed an FIR against Kapil Yadav and six co-accused under sections 376D (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and under sections of the Arms Act," said inspector Vikash Kaushik, SHO, Sushant Lok police station.
