As the JMM is all set to play a crucial role in Jharkhand which is heading for a hung House, the party on Wednesday in Ranchi said any group wanting its support should back Shibu Soren for the chief ministership of the state.
"Let the results officially be announced. But, the party's stand is whoever will support Guruji (JMM chief Shibu Soren) for chief ministership), will get our support," the party's Central Committee Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya told PTI here.
JMM has won 9 seats and is leading in as many seats in the 81-member House.
Senior JMM leader Hemlal Murmu said, "We will explore options of a government led by the JMM. As a second option, we will see which combination can provide a stable government."
Whoever Backs Shibu Soren As CM Will Get Our Support: JMM

Senior JMM leader Hemlal Murmu said, "We will explore options of a government led by the JMM. As a second option, we will see which combination can provide a stable government."
Hemant Soren, the younger son of Shibu Soren, said JMM leaders will meet tonight at their residence in Bokaro to chalk out the future course of action.
"It is not possible to form the new government without the JMM. We would like a strong and stable government in Jharkhand. For us, nobody is untouchable," Hemant, who also represents the party in the Rajya Sabha, said.
The party, he said, had done very well in tribal Santhal Pargana region, winning ten out of the 18 seats there -- up by five seats from 2005.
His sister-in-law Sita Soren, the widow of his brother Durga, said she was ready for a ministerial post if given an opportunity.
"Why not, if given an opportunity I would serve for the people," she told newsmen when asked whether she would accept ministerial post in the event of JMM forming the government. PTI
