Mumbai, May 10: The water crisis in this megapolis continued for the second consecutive day today with the BMC curtailing water supply in most of the localities.
Southern and western Mumbai localities were the worst affected. Water supply early in the morning was a mere trickle, barely sufficient for drinking as queues lengthened at the community water taps, even as housewives faced further woes.
Cuffe Parade, Colaba, Nariman Point, Churchgate, Marine Lines, Marine Drive, Malabar Hills and Peddar Road were some of the localities where people had to buy water from tankers for their use.
BMC officials say that the supply would improve once the repairs and maintenance works are over, but the residents are sceptical.
BMC had announced that it would curtail water supply for three days at a stretch. Wednesday is the third and final day and residents hope their woes would ease.
