Mumbai: Former top model Viveka Babajee might have had many close friends, but she was lonely at heart. Almost all her friends say that although she was jovial and could mix with anyone effortlessly, she was a private person. Viveka wanted to plug this loneliness for a long time and for that, as friends now say, she was planning to adopt a child. And if she did, they add, she would have been alive, reports DNA.
"Viveka had spoken a number of times that she wanted to adopt. She had some failed relationships which was not helping her emotionally. With every break-up, she was getting cynical about men and having a serious relationship. She surely wanted strong emotional support, someone who she could fall back on," said a close friend of Viveka requesting anonymity.
According to a source, she wanted to do her bit by raising an orphan and give the child all the pleasures that any family gives. "She was a businesswoman plus a model doing late night parties and working odd hours. A child could have provided great comfort to her," said the source.
Viveka was doing some research on orphanages in and around the city. "She once told me that she was looking to adopt. I was very happy because the child would distract and take away the tension that was surrounding her. She even told me that she had done research work about orphanages in Mumbai and outside the city. She was planning to move fast on it. I wish she had done it because the child could have changed her fate," said another friend.
Her friends also said that Viveka was in no mood to marry anyone until Gautam came into her life. "She broke up with Rohit Jugraj because she sensed that he was getting too serious and wanted to marry her. She was a confident individual who looked to lead her life in her own terms. She was in no mood to marry until Gautam happened. She was so smitten by him. She was really looking for a commitment from him, recognition that she is her girl even if he was going to marry her later on. But Gautam was not ready to make their month-old relationship public," said the friend.
