New Delhi: Good news finally arrives for the tourists from four countries including the Unite Kingdom.

As per government sources quoted by leading daily UK could soon be eligible for visa-on-arrival.

At present 43 countries including the USA are eligible for Visas-on-arrival. In his budget speech last month, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the privilege will be extended to 150 countries which will be added "in phases."

According to NDTV reports, Dr Mahesh Sharma who heads the Tourism Ministry department has asked Home Minister Rajnath Singh to clear China, the UK, Spain, Italy and France for the scheme.

Home Ministry sources told NDTV that UK, Spain, Italy and France are likely to make the cut soon. "We don't see much problem in these countries," a senior official said asking that he not be named.

However, security agencies are opposed to the inclusion of China. They also reportedly underscored to the Home Ministry that China still issues stapled visas for travelers from Arunachal Pradesh, which it considers disputed territory. Given Beijing's unrelenting stand on the issue, intelligence officials feel that India must not relax its travel rules for Chinese visitors.
