Former CAG Vinod Rai set to join Railways Ministry as 'Honorary Advisor'

New Delhi:   The effort of Railway minister Suresh Prabhu to bring in more transparency in the Indian Railways is to receive a major boost with former CAG Vinod Rai all set to join the ministry

New Delhi:   The effort of Railway minister Suresh Prabhu to bring in more transparency in the Indian Railways is to receive a major boost with former CAG Vinod Rai all set to join the ministry as ‘Honorary Advisor'.  

 Vinod Rai is reportedly being brought in to go through Railways Ministry's functioning in December 2014.

Vinod Rai has clarified that he would not take any salary for this assignment and will not attend office on a daily basis. He further stated that he already had two rounds of discussion with the Railway minister and will now officially meet the other members of the Railway Board on various issues.

Rai will be given a office in the Rail Bhawan from where he will discharge his new responsibility.Vinod Rai who was the CAG during the previous UPA governments had exposed various scams like spectrum allocation and irregularities in the coal block allocation.
