The Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Wednesday backed the Shiv Sena's  protest against Shah Rukh Khan  saying there was 'nothing wrong' in it as the country is not prepared to tolerate a 'Pakistani sympathiser'.

VHP international general secretary Praveen Togadia, however, opposed Sena's 'Mumbai for Marathis' campaign.

"Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, belongs to the entire country and if a group or a particular political party claims exclusive right over it, it is not acceptable to the people of the nation," he said.

On Khan favouring the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL, he said, "People opposing the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer My Name Is Khan are doing nothing wrong. The countrymen are no longer going to tolerate a Pakistani sympathiser".

"His remark has hurt the feelings of countrymen who have made him a Bollywood hero," Togadia told reporters.

The VHP leader also slammed the governments of Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal for advocating reservation for Muslims in government jobs.
