Anantpur: On Wednesday morning, the driver of a police car had a narrow escape when a Bangalore-bound train hit the vehicle at an unmanned railway crossing near Guddem locality on Hindupur town.
The driver just managed to jump out of the car on time. The car was to be used as a jammer in the convoy of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who is to address an election rally in Hindupur in the evening, police said.
The incident took when the police were conducting a rehearsal of the convoy movement of Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi is arriving in Puttaparthi by helicopter and drive down to Hindupur town to address an election rally.
