Rajasthan CM name race: The former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje Scindia and her son Dushyant Singh today (December 7) met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda in Delhi amid the suspense over Rajasthan Chief Minister's name selection.
Amid chaos over the BJP's chief ministerial pick for Rajasthan, senior party leader and former CM Vasundhara Raje reached New Delhi last night (December 6).
The development came after nearly 60 of the newly elected BJP MLAs met her at her Civil Lines residence on Monday and Tuesday. The party sources said the name of the chief minister will be decided by the party's parliamentary board. However, the party has not yet made any announcement regarding the legislature party meeting.
Congress failed in front of Modi's guarantees: Vasundhara Raje
Vasundhara Raje has praised PM Modi after the Assembly election results 2023 in three states saying the false promises made by the Congress party failed in front of Prime Minister's guarantees. The BJP won three out of five states where Assembly polls have recently conducted including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
Raje, a two-time chief minister, is among the frontrunners for the post of chief minister. In the Assembly election results declared on Sunday (December 3), the BJP got 115 seats while the Congress secured 69 seats.
Elections on 199 out of 200 seats in the state were held on Saturday (November 25). Polling in Karanpur, where the election was adjourned due to the demise of the Congress candidate, will be held on January 5 and results will be declared on January 8.
