Sultanpur (UP): BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Varun Gandhi would lead a dharna on April 28 to demand adequate compensation for farmers who have suffered crop losses due to recent untimely rains and hailstorm.
BJP's district president Karuna Shanker Trivedi today said that a dharna and demonstration would be held on April 28 which would be led by Varun Gandhi.
He said that an 11-member committee has been constituted at the district level to assess crop losses in the villages and will submit its report within a week. Trivedi said the state government was still insensitive towards the cause of farmers.
“While the Centre has lowered the criteria for compensation, the state government was still insensitive towards farmers,” he said.
