Vaishno Devi Fire Latest News: A massive fire engulfed a building near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu's Katra on Tuesday. Several fire fighting teams were pressed into service to control the blaze.
"The fire has been brought under control," CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board said.
According to reports, the fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit inside a cash counter room. The room, which is situated at some distance from the main shrine, suffered heavy damage in the fire. However, a detailed probe will ascertain the actual cause of the fire.
Videos shared on social media showed huge blaze and thick plume of smoke rising from the building atop a hill that houses the famous Vaishno Devi temple.
