Dehradun/Rishikesh, Jun 22: A large number of relatives of pilgrims trapped in the upper reaches of Uttarakhand, today staged a noisy protest outside Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport, and tried to block road traffic.
The relatives shouted slogans against the state government and alleged that the administration was being callous in carrying out rescue and relief. Police later dispersed the relatives from the area.
Meanwhile, several thousands of pilgrims still trapped for the sixth day running in Uttarakhand are yet to access relief and rescue, with reports coming in of miscreants robbing some of them in Kedarnath.
Some of the pilgrims trapped in Kedarnath rang up their relatives to inform that the miscreants even tried to misbehave with some women, and robbed them of their ornaments and money.
Officials involved in rescue and relief operations complained that political leaders and bureaucrats at daily making phone calls to get their kin rescued first.
