Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is working on an action plan to facilitate financial assistance and other help to meritorious students of classes 10 and 12 who do not have enough resources to take the IIT entrance exams, an official said on Thursday.
This follows a directive by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who has asked officials of the secondary education department to coordinate with the Super-30 institute in Bihar capital Patna, where poor students are coached to successfully crack the IIT entrance exam.
A state government spokesman told IANS that Anand Kumar who runs the institute will be consulted while drawing up an action plan.
Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Mutthu Kumaraswamy B. has been named nodal officer for making the action plan.
