Bareilly, UP, Mar 2: Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday evening seized as-many-as 2,500 bottles of illicit liquor in Bareilly ahead of seventh phase of polling in the state.
The liquor was being carried in an ambulance of a renowned hospital. Police seized the liquor during the routine checking near the police station.
Police have sealed the bottles and arrested two persons.Police suspects that the seized liquor was to attract the voters before the final round of polling which is to be held on Saturday.
On the other hand hospital administration, whose ambulance was used to carry the liquor, is denying of any role in the incident and blamed the staff.
Police have registered a case and started investigation.
