Agra (UP): Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today said media should think of ways to bring about qualitative changes in the society.
“Media being a mirror to society should know what is right and what is not in the interest of society,” he said while addressing a meeting of scribes from different parts of the country here.
“Media was losing the confidence of the masses and (its) credibility was at stake,” Naik said, adding that “journalists should think of ways to bring about qualitative changes”. The print media should not let its clout and influence get diluted, he said, while on electronic media, he added that it should exercise caution with breaking news syndrome. “Before independence, journalism was a mission but now the profession,” he said. Naik urged the government to take appropriate steps to solve problems of mediapersons.
