Chandigarh, July 9: Two youth were yesterday booked for the alleged rape of a teenaged girl in Punjab's border district of Tarn Taran, police said.
The victim, a class 9 student, was on way to her school Monday when the youth kidnapped her and raped her at a photo studio at Dhotta village in Tarn Taran, 275 km from here.
“No arrests have been made so far but raids are being conducted to arrest both youth,” a police officer in Tarn Taran said.
The family of the girl recovered her in another village where the youth had dumped her after committing the crime, and threatening her not to reveal the incident to anyone.
Police booked the two youths, who had been identified, were booked on charges of rape, kidnapping and criminal intimidation.
