Ajmer, Apr 30: The government railway police at Abu Road on Friday night arrested a Travelling Ticket Examiner on charge of raping a woman passener inside an air-conditioned coach of 2990 Ajmer-Dadar Express, reports India TV reporter Sunil Acharya.
52-year-old TTE Dinesh Dutt Mishra works in Ajmer division and he was not on duty at the time, GRP officials said.
The TTE met the lady, Sunita (name changed) at Vyavar station and promised her to give a reserved berth on the train.
He took her to AC Coach B2 and gave her berth 55 which was lying vacant.
Mishra, the victim alleged, then raped her on the berth, and in the commotion that was created, other passengers caught hold of the TTE and handed him over to the GRP staff at Abu Road.
DSP GRP Suresh Kumar reached Abu Road from Ajmer and took both of them for a medical verification which confirmed rape.However, the TTE denies rape and says that it was consensual sex. He has been sent to custody.The lady in question was a pilgrim to Ajmer dargah.
