New Delhi: With the opposition all set to attack the government on issues like Vyapam scam and Lalit Modi row, an all-party meet, called by the Centre a day ahead of the commencement of Monsoon session to work out a plan to ensure the smooth functioning of the Parliament, began on Monday.
The meeting has been convened by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
New Delhi: Parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj was keen to make a statement in Parliament on the Lalit Modi controversy surrounding her.
"Sushma Swaraj is keen to make a statement in respect of the allegations against her regarding Lalit Modi's travel documents," Naidu told reporters here after an all-party meeting.

Lucknow: Around 12 lakh power employees and engineers across the country will go on one-day strike on the day Electricity (Amendment) Bill is presented in Parliament during the Monsoon session beginning tomorrow.
Despite the opposition of power employees and engineers to the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2014, it has been put on agenda of Lok Sabha and can come up anytime between July 21 and August 13, Chairman of All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) Shailendra Dubey said here today. “Hence, powermen throughout the country have been alerted to observe strike/work boycott on that day,” he said.
New Delhi: Gold prices fell below Rs 25,000 per 10 grams today by tumbling Rs 524 in futures trade after the precious metal sank to over five-year lows in global market.
At the MCX, the gold contract for delivery in August crashed by Rs 524, or 2.06 per cent, to Rs 24,974 per 10 grams in a business volume of 597 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
