ChhatrapatiShivaji International Airport, Mumbai
The primary international airport of Mumbai, Chhatrapati Shivaji Internation Airport, is the second busiest airport of the country.
Opened in 1942, the airport is named after the 17th-century Maratha emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji.
The airport has five operating terminals spread over an operational area of 2,900 acres.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport handles more than 780 aircraft movements per day and handled a record 51 movements in one hour on 16 September 2014.
A major hub for incoming passengers from the Middle East, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, has undergone a major face-lift in the past few years with its recent development as new integrated terminal T2, which was inaugurated on 10 January 2014.
