Timeline of Delhi gang rape: how the braveheart fought against death till the end

New Delhi: Following is the timeline of how Damini, the braveheart  fought against death till the end: ​December 16, 2012: Damini (name changed), a paramedic student, watches a movie with her friend in Delhi's Saket mall



December 26: The protests continue in Delhi and only get larger. Constable Tomar is cremated with full state honours - a rare service for a constable and seen as  Delhi police making a point.
December 27: Damini is airlifted to Singapore where she remains critical in the ICU of Mount Elizabeth Hospital. The Delhi police, along with other paramilitary forces, clamp down on the capital in a desperate attempt to stop the protests.



Police stop metro services, close roads and essentially turn the heart of the capital of India into a fortress, as Russian President Vladimir Putin was visiting Delhi. .


December 28: Despite the efforts of the Delhi police the protests continue. Damini's  condition deteriorates further. Her doctors in Singapore announce that she is suffering from multiple organ failure and is 'extremely critical'. There were hopes that the super-specialty hospital might yet save her life.



December 29: At around 2:15 am IST, Damini passes away.
