Gorakhpur, UP, Oct 3 : Three persons were electrocuted when a wooden post of a Durga Puja tent in Dharmashala Bazar here suddenly collapsed because of the weight of a crowd at around 1 am on Sunday-Monday night.
More than three dozen people were injured in the stampede that followed. They have been admitted to local hospitals, where the condition of some of them is serious, said Sanjay Kumar, district collector.
The people were listening to bhajans during the Devi Jagaram, when the wooden post collapsed.
